Silk Dress

What are you most proud of? The invisible hand stitching around the bias binding and the fit. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used the method of soaking the silk in a gelitine solution to stabilise it and prevent fraying - more detail on how I did this is in my silk shirt project. This also pre-shrinks the silk before sewing making hand washing possible.

Great advice! Love the binding idea. Did you learn about the silk idea from the liberty shirt class? I bought that class but haven't started yet

No ... just something I read on the net. I did an experiement making a short circle skirt using only 1m of silk - it worked fine so I did the shirt and dress this way too.
