What are you most proud of? I purchased a small amount of bronzy color Dupioni silk; just enough to make purse lining with pockets. I made the pockets extra firm with a bit of stiff interfacing. Has anyone ever used rooking? (a very stiff interfacing). What advice would you give someone starting this project? Check out the upholstery fabric section of your favorite fabric store. I love to make purses and totes out of upholstery fabric--because it has such wonderful body. Sometimes you can find a small chunk of expensive fabric in the clearance bin. That's where I found the 1/2 yard of Dupioni silk, and the paisley fabric priced at $5 per yard. Generally these types of fabrics sold by the yard go for $18-$34 a yard. I squeal with delight when I find bargains like that.
