Project

Flannel & Linen Lap Comforter

Project Description

What was your source for this sewing project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Flannel Lap Duvets Link to website or photo www.purlbee.com/lap-duvet/ What are you most proud of? I'm proud that I remembered to roll the finished edges away from the duvet and the unfinished side toward the duvet so that equal tension was on the top and bottom when I machine sewed the bar tacks to hold it together, and that I repurposed some knitting clips to hold the rolls while I sewed. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Double check that your backing isn't puckered when you're sewing the bar tacks. When sewing the bar tacks, I worked my way down the length of the duvet, opening the safety pins of the entire row first, not cutting the threads between bar tacks to conserve thread, and I dabbed a bit of Fray Chek on the tacks once I'd trimmed the threads to make them secure.
