Project

First go!

What are you most proud of? I've made myself a denim skirt and my daughter made this one herself. We measured each other, and helped each other with the darts but other than that she did the lot on her own. It was so lovely seeing her concentration throughout the project and her pride in wearing her skirt out for the first time! I can't believe how professional, well made and well fitted her final skirt is! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Everything piece of information you could possibly need is covered in this series of videos. My daughter and I both found it straight forward and didn't really have any major issues. Personally , if you have one, I would recommend using a zipper foot. Both my daughter and I tried to add the concealed zip without the foot and just found it difficult to keep the zip aligned with the seam.

BeaSewGood asked:
Beautifully sewn. Love the fabric! I wonder how many skirts your daughter plans to make. How fun to go out to choose the fabrics!
Julia Batt answered:
I've told her that once she's made three completely different ones (one with yoke, one with lining), then I'll buy another online class with craftsy! :D
