First ever fused quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am really pleased with the colours I have used. The project has made me think more about design and use of colour. I have tried to repeat and reuse those colours in different parts of the composition. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have fun - great course! I have learned SO much!

What you will need

  • Hand dyed background fabric
  • quilting cottons
  • DMC Coton Perle
  • wool batting

Q&A with Teddymaker

K Lee 2Strings asked:
Beautiful! Love your color choices. The whole composition has such a bright, summery flavor to it.
Teddymaker answered:
Thank you. You're very kind!
suzarl1092823 asked:
You done did a great job there. I see many more of these in your future.
Teddymaker answered:
Thank you! I would like to make a companion to this quilt - with more of my favourite flowers.
ChristmasEv asked:
Lovely quilt! You were quite brave to dye your own fabric...it came out lovely. Congratulations!
Teddymaker answered:
Thank you! I have dyed silk ribbons and mohair plush in the past, but not cotton. The fabric turned out paler than I expected, but ended up as a happy mistake.
Sequana asked:
How speedy were you??? And it's so beautiful too. Maybe you can be a co-instructor. :) Or at least help with the dyeing. In any event, great job!
Teddymaker answered:
Thank you so much. My husband has just come home from hospital after an operation. I wanted a hand sewing project that meant I could sit with him. It has been a worrying time, so this course happened at just the right time for me.
