dyeing, overdye 2

What was your inspiration? The pieces that were yellow and overdyed with red did not turn out as I had hoped. I wanted a bright red, with orange and yellow areas. Turquoise overdyed with red: not what I was hoping for. The colors are muted and orangey instead of red. Yellow, turqoise, red: I like these the best, but didn't think they would turn out very well. My next batch with start some with red and go lighter to see what happens.

Q&A with akpharvey@yahoo.com

Jo-Mo asked:
The yellow turquoise red overdye is beautiful. I tried purple over the golden yellow and it turned out really well. It's always a surprise :-)
akpharvey@yahoo.com answered:
Yes, I'm learning a lot. Interesting how some processes work and others not so well. I just got a bunch of bamboo socks , fabric and scarves to play with. That's my plan for today.
Jane Dunnewold asked:
It's so informative to see the progression. Thanks for posting the series!
akpharvey@yahoo.com answered:
This is one of the best classes I've ever taken. The possibilities are endless. I'm planning to use my trail pieces in a quilt or wall hanging. My SO has said some would be beautiful on the wall. He doesn't usually notice those things. ;^)
