Disappearing Nine Patch

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That my Mom (89 years old) and I are now working long-distance to make quilts together ~ she lives in Michigan and I live in South Carolina. We are coordinating the steps together as we quilt, and are sharing fabric, and piecework, via U.P.S. mail. It is my way of sharing, intimately, time with her although we are apart by fate! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make six nine-patches, and cut per Jenny's instructions. Lay them out and see how you need to piece them together before beginning any piecing. This project takes a little more time, but I think it really pays off. Good luck and get started!

What you will need

  • Quality cotton in Fall colors.

Love your color choices. This is such an interesting variation on the nine-patch motif. And thank you for sharing your experience about working with trying different color arrangements when doing the patches.
