Project

Bargello in the Round

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The colours I choose and the complexity looking of the block by the colours chosen. This pattern uses a 10 degree Wedge Ruler What advice would you give someone starting this project? Choose your colours carefully. Start with a patterned fabric for each colour way and pull colours from the patterned fabric. Keep a good amount of contrast so as to see the design properly. Take your time, follow the directions carefully and accurately. Once the colour ways are chosen, cut and stacked properly the quilt will sew up quite quickly. Cut accurately. Have fun.

What you will need

  • All cotton materials with cotton batting and backing

Q&A with Jnfrsmith

Diana1951 asked:
absolutely beautiful! Pattern?
Jnfrsmith answered:
Yes, from the book QUILTS WITHOUT CORNERS BY CHERYL PHILLIPS. She has two books out and this came from the first book.
Gemma Potts asked:
This is gorgeous! Is it difficult? Do you think a beginning quilter can handle it, or is it too complex?
Jnfrsmith answered:
Hi Gemma, It is not too difficult. You do need the 10 degree wedge ruler though. Colours and placement is very important to get the proper look. I am sure you could manage it, When you decide what colour ways you want to use you can always get help from a quilt store to help you pick out all the colours. If you do make one please make sure you post it. I would love to see it. Thanks for the compliment. 03/21/2014 Flag
