Apples for a Teacher Mug Rug

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? I woke up yesterday morning with this mug rug taking over my brain. After several days of pondering designs, I couldn't believe how quickly it came together - designed and stitched in one day! That's a first. I didn't even have to go out and purchase a single thing! Everything I used in this little mug rug was already in my stash. I'm making progress on FMQ pebbles. I had begun to give up hope and resign myself to sticking with the swirls and curls and feathers that flow together quickly. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Play around with colors and placement till you find exactly what you like, and don't give up on developing a new skill!
