What materials did you use? All cotton material and photograph to make the pattern. Also Tusenko inks.

What are you most proud of? Freeing myself from the photo. And the intricate quilting on the feathers and background quilting. I have really tried to become a better quilter. As much as I am drawn to the quilt tops I study other quilters quilting. I think it adds to artistic nature of the overall piece.

WOW & AWESOME!!!!! CONGRATS! Interesting b/c before I even read your description I did a close up on the face & noticed how you got the "shading" or definition was through different values of fabric & I thought that was so cool!! I love Day of the Dead motifs & symbolism & this is wonderful!

I took a class by Grace Errea and she teaches an awesome and simple technique. My quilts are based on photos and she teaches how to create the pattern and assign values. Highly recommend her class and book.

Hey, Color Kitten! Your work is fabulous: color, texture, composition, and quilting. The expert mix of classic quilt motif with contemporary technique is a subtle and sublime surprise, inviting viewer to linger and explore intricacies! I love the dimensional braids trailing off the plane and moving freely. Your work continues to inspire and motivate me.

Thanks for your kind comments. I follow your posts as well for the same reasons. I keep trying to improve on my quilting. Next is continuing to work on faces.

Thank you for your thoughts on my work. I have loads more to load up but need to do something else, like, clean my house, pick up the same, prepare the yard for winter, etc, etc. When I'm in quilt mode it is hard to stop me. It's a VERY good thing I no longer need to be in children mode.
