If you loved my Knitty pattern Girl Friday, you'll adore Sazerac. Named after the classic American cocktail, Sazerac is a relaxed fit cardigan with great details. Knit-in pockets, set-in cuffed sleeves, and a generous knit-in shawl collar. Body is knit in one piece to the armholes, and then split for fronts and back. Shown in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in colorway "Spats". Sazerac uses a simple brioche variation combined with garter stitch, which work beautifully with multi-color yarns as well as solids. Uses 1600 (1800, 2000, 2200, 2400, 2600, 2900) yards sport weight yarn. GAUGE 20 sts and 40 rows = 4" in Garter Stitch and Garter Brioche Stitch, after blocking. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished Size: 32 1/4 (36, 39 1/2, 44 1/4, 48, 52 3/4, 56 1/4)" bust circumference. Finished sizing is measured with the cardigan fronts overlapping. Sazerac is intended to fit with 2-4" of positive ease. PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport or Sportmate COLORWAY Spats

My background in fiber arts began as a kid in Connecticut, sewing and crafting, and grew into a pursuit of a degree in fiber arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design (B.F.A. Fibers, 1999). My original major was sequential art (comic book geek), but tactile fibers drew me back in. I still draw pictures, too! I'm a former yarn shop owner, and was the creative mind (and hands) behind Kitchen Sink Dyeworks. I love combining texture and color, the thrill of a curve or angle falling right into place, and love sharing the resulting patterns.
