Karen's Notes: I designed these while on a trip to England and France in summer 2014. The yarn is natural, non dyed Bluefaced Leicester DK by West Yorkshire Spinners, Yorkshire, England and I created the pattern while it poured with rain in Paris for 3 days! I took inspiration from some of the Euro street styles I saw while sipping wine at a little bistro on the boulevard around the corner from our hotel. These will make great gifts for either men or women and features mock cables (no need for cable needles!) and a textured weave. They are constructed in DK weight yarn and are virtually reversible, so they look great on both sides. For custom knit orders see details at the end of this blurb. :) BUTTON VERSION I imagined this tucked into the neck of a trench coat, and shows a feature mock cable diamond neck buttoned front and a textured weave main pattern. LONG VERSION The long version has no buttons and has the mock cable rib ar both ends of the 60" / 150cm length, with weave pattern in between. Estimated yarn required: 3 skeins of featured yarn - or approx 650-700 yds of DK weight yarn. Thank you for looking! A creative Brit living in Colorado, I've been knitting since 7 years old. My big hobbies are landscape and skyscape photography, acrylic and oil painting. My latest knitting designs are "Western Fiberscapes" where I take my design influence from the photographs I take and other's I admire and turn them into fiberscapes. Knitting, is very therapeutic to me, it slows me down and centers me. I started creating my own patterns in 2011, just, well because and was amazed they sold on etsy. It was just a fun little hobby that earned me some holiday and yarn money that year. But, I got hooked (no pun intended!) and really love the creative process, combining stitches for textures along with combined with the math calulation. Sometimes I find an interesting stitch technique and fabric and imagine a design in it. Sometimes it takes many weeks and trial and errors to work something out. I can't tell you how many times I start, get 1/2 way and then pull it out and start again! As of fall 2015, I'm becoming more focused on the artistic side of knitting. I've been studying mosaic knitting, which I love and playing with blending color - as with Canyonlands. "Navaho Sunsets" has a mix of mosaic and blending colors, while "Eagle Mountain" was inspired by the bald eagles soaring on the thermals above the mountain and canyon behind my house in the foothills of Colorado and Native American art and symbols.. I'm always willing to help my customers with any questions and welcome feedback to improve or add patterns that customers suggest. Happy knitting! Karen
