I created this pattern as a gift for my sister, the Mrs. Robertson the pattern is named after. She is a very elegant, usually cold person, so I wanted a cowl that was light, pretty, and warm. Using an alpaca blend lace weight yarn created just the fabric I wanted. The stitch pattern also looks fabulous when knit in a solid yarn, or even in a variegated yarn. It's also very easy to add beads to add sparkle to your project. I give two options for adding beads as well as the original unbeaded version. It's a project that looks complex when done, but is actually a fairly simple knit and has a stitch pattern that is easy to imemorize. Knit to the End
I was taught to knit when I was quite young, but I didn't really get into it till I was around 15. Ever since then I have been much too addicted to it. At this point I have a strong love of lace and lace weight yarns, although I do enjoy knitting with heavier weight yarns just to mix things up a bit.
