I have a deep love for entrelac and want lots of knitters who feel daunted by it to give it a try. This pattern was originally designed as a first project for someone unfamiliar with entrelac. Although it looks complex, it only requires basic knitting skills to accomplish. This pattern will take you through all the aspects of entrelac from the beginning triangles to right and left leaning rectangles as well as beginning and ending side triangles. You could knit it in a solid color, but for maximum fun, use a self-striping yarn with long color runs. Three skeins is sufficient for a standard to longish length scarf. The pattern has line-by-line instructions along with two schematics for added clarity.
