PATTERN DETAILS

This cute top can be modified to suit your taste. The eyelets can be removed by working sc's instead of ch-2 sps. You can make it with as many or as few stripes as you wish. It's always a bit of an experiment and an adventure to see how changing yarn and hook size results in a variety of looks. While I recommend DK weight yarn and a size 5mm hook for a cute 6mo-old size, experimentation will yield amazing results. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY 5 basic crochet stitches (ch, sl st, sc, dc, hdc - US terms) This pattern does have a stitch diagram to make it possible to follow without text or to enhance the text instructions. GAUGE Not essential SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Changes depending on yarn used 3-ply baby yarn: Newborn - months 4-ply baby yarn: 3 - 8 months DK weight yarn: 9-18 months Worsted weight: 18-30 months SUGGESTED YARN 520 yards of Worsted weight COLORWAY It's all up to you.
