Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Madeira cake, fondant icing, food colouring, paintbrush, small present, candle & holder, ribbon & white wire for the whiskers. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you freeze your cake, before carving, you will find it so much easier. It will also be less crumbly when covering with marzipan & the fondant. Give your colouring plenty of time to dry. This was an early cake, if I were to make it again I would present it slightly differently... I think the piping on the board lets the cake down.
