Indian Peacock

Project Description

Do you sell this cake? No, just for fun Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake All tiers are cake and covered in fondant. I made this cake for my niece's wedding. There were 800 people at the reception. Accents were made of isomalt, gumpaste, royal icing and fondant. The peacock was made of gumpaste. The centre of it was a styrofoam ball covered in gumpaste and the feathers were gelatin. Many hours to do this cake.

Pixie Trix asked:
This is amazing and so well done using many Craftsy skills. Love the peacock and how you did the feathers. Your niece must have been thrilled with the outcome.
ca.cakemaker@gmail.com answered:
The feathers were made of gelatin. I hard lots of problems making them. I think my niece was happy but she really doesn't know how much work went into making it. I saved the peacock and now it's in my china cabinet. I couldn't have it thrown out
