Hamburger & Fries cake

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Cake, fondant, buttercream, gel color, Rice Krispie cereal. What are you most proud of? I didn't follow a pattern or instructions! I also built it like a hamburger so when you cut it, it had a hamburger profile. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just think of what you like on your hamburger and play with your colours. For the fries, I like mine crispy, so I even toasted my pound cake fries lightly in my toaster oven. Use your imagination and have fun. Mistakes can be eaten!

Q&A with mootiemute

yazmincakes asked:
Oh my God, I love it! Did you use icing for the bread part on the hamburger or is it just the cake baked alone? It looks wonderful. I really love it!
mootiemute answered:
Thank you :) the bread part is just exposed cake. I thought about icing it or covering with fondant, but as the cakes were baking they were browning so nicely, I thought hmmm. It would have made the sticking of the "sesame seeds" Rice Krispies easier to attach but I just took my time and dotted them on individually.
