Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Devil's food cake with buttercream frosting and gumpaste flowers. The bride and groom are rock climbers, so the ropes of fondant form an infinity knot in the front of the cake. What are you most proud of? These were my first gumpaste sunflowers! The knot was much more difficult with fondant than with real rope. :D But mostly, I'm proud of the clean, straight edges and sharp corners. I've been making cakes with buttercream for four years and it wasn't until a Craftsy class than I could get them this straight and pretty!
