Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Be a confident quilter, this is an intermediate project

Pattern Description:

I fell in love with this traditional quilt block. The block made me think of sails on a sail boat.

I wanted to use my stash of new and vintage solid fabrics to create a sea of waves for my "sail boats" to float in. Geometric men's shirting prints, vintage stripes and polka dots mixed with new geometric prints added whimsy to the sails and gave texture amongst the solids.

This is a super stash-buster project with beautiful results!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 84" x 84"

  • Quilting weight cotton fabric, batting material, template plastic, scissors, non-permanent marking tool, sewing machine

You Will Also Need:

  • This is a great stash-buster project - have a wide assortment of prints and solids for greater effect
