I've been quilting for 15 years and I'm hopelessly obsessed with the craft. I love all kinds of quilts including traditional and modern designs. My favourites are scrappy quilts, using up every last bit of the gorgeous fabrics I love. I'm a mom of two teenagers, and I work part time in a local quilt shop, Quilts Bayou. I find quilting is a great way to settle my mind. I have a podcast called Lazy Daisy Quilts, where I discuss my projects.View all patterns by designer (12) »
If you are brand new to foundation paper piecing, start with a quick tutorial. There are many free videos on YouTube about this technique and you should familiarize yourself with it. Anyone can do this technique. It is not difficult. It's a great project for strips.
If you're a book lover and a quilter, you will love this little quilt. It's a perfect wall hanging size. If you prefer to make a lap quilt size, you have two options. You could take your pattern print outs to a copy shop and have them increase the size 200% or you can make more than 16 blocks, and arrange them how you like. The pictures reflect this. The last picture is my quilt, in the small size, made with a red bamboo print instead of brown wood.
Print as many copies as you need to practice these blocks.
