Description
I’ve always loved using up scraps, whether that’s turning leftovers into a good pot of soup or transforming yarn odds and ends into something special. Last Earth Day, I started thinking about how to make use of even the tiniest wool scraps I usually throw away, and that’s when I had the idea to make dryer balls.
I began saving all my wool yarn ends, even the smallest pieces, in a zippered bag. Once I had enough, I crocheted a ball using some longer scraps, stuffed it with the smaller bits, and felted it by tossing it in with a few loads of laundry. Afterward, I added a few cute designs with more wool scraps and a felting pen to give them a little extra charm.
