Shaper Trace and Your CNC
George VondriskaCNC users often need to turn real objects into vector drawings for cutting, and doing it manually can be time-consuming. In this lesson, you’ll learn how Shaper Trace simplifies the process.
Shaper Trace uses a registration frame and smartphone app to scan an object, capture its shape, and generate a vector file for CNC use.
Once the image is captured, you can locate a center line, export the file, and send it to your computer for additional setup. From there, the vector can be imported into VCarve Pro for toolpath preparation and final production.
After the file is configured, it can be run on many CNC machines, not just the Shaper Origin.
