3D Flower Pattern
Ch 10. The tenth chain is just a turning chain and doesn’t count as a stitch.
**Row 1:** Starting in the second chain from the hook, [HDC, ch 2, HDC] into each chain across, turn. You should have 18 HDC and 9 ch-2 spaces.
**Row 2 (WS row):** Ch 1 (this does not count as a stitch), *Slip stitch into the next ch-2 space, ch 1, 4 DC into the same ch-2 space, ch 1, sl st into the same ch-2 space (one petal made). Repeat from * for each chain across. You should have 9 petals made.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew the flower together.
With the right side facing up, coil the crocheted strip to form a flower shape and use the yarn tail to stitch through the center to hold the shape. These ends can also be used to attach the flower to another project.
Try adding a few of these flowers to a hat or bag, or create a border of smaller flowers (using thinner yarn and a smaller hook) around a sweater neckline. You can also stitch a hair clip to the back of a single flower for a cute accessory. Another idea is to cover a throw pillow with these flowers in various colors for a beautiful floral-themed décor. The possibilities for these charming crocheted flowers are endless!
