In the art world most assemblages are free-standing or are mounted on a wood base. They often include bits and pieces of broken items or personal relics that are brought together to tell a new story. In this class, art quilter Heather Thomas will show you how to build a three-dimensional art assemblage on a quilted base with a sturdy layer of a heavy stabilizer.

Heather will show you how to use quick and easy machine quilting to build a fabric base to support your found objects. Then she will help you explore lots of different ways to attach a myriad of fun and unusual objects to the surface as you bring your own story to life.
