Description
These essential handknit socks are worked from top down, beginning with a strong and flexible cast-on using needles one size larger than required to get gauge. The heel is centered on the back-of-leg stitches and begins with a heel flap, followed by the heel turn. The toe has a rounded wedge shape that’s achieved by working decreases every other row until half of the foot stitches remain, then working the decreases every row until the desired number of stitches remain, ending with the Kitchener stitch or a gathered tip. Find video instruction for this pattern in Essential Skills for Sock Knitting with Ann Budd.
