Pattern Description:

This VERY POPULAR pattern is suitable as a FIRST SEWING PROJECT. 3 pages in all, 2 pages full of clear, large print, step by step instructions with drawings. Skills covered: finding fabric grain, cutting straight, measuring & pinning folds, sewing straight next to fold, ironing, inserting elastic and cord.

This bag opens very wide when you lay it down. It would be great for the beach, groceries, or transporting a quilt or blanket, books, carry to a sleepover party. Two sides have elastic. The other two sides are drawn up in by the cord, which you can spread out wider when you set it down. What fabric would you choose? Imagine college logos! You could patch fabrics together, like denim squares from old jeans.

I've taught beginning sewing for five years to ages 8 and up to adults. I saw the need for clear instructions with good diagrams/photos for beginners. You beginners can make this with these easy step my step instructions.
