The Chevron Seed Stitch is a lovely textured stitch pattern that’s perfect for baby items and garments. In this session, knitting expert Mary Beth Temple demonstrates how to work this easy stitch pattern that’s worked over a multiple of 8 stitches and four rows.

Work the Chevron Seed Stitch over a multiple of 8 stitches as follows:

  • Row 1 (RS): *P1, k3; repeat from * to end.
  • Row 2 (WS): *K1, p5, k1, p1; repeat from * to end.
  • Row 3: *K2, p1, k3, p1, k1; repeat from * to end.
  • Row 4: *P2, k1, p1, k1, p3; repeat from * to end.
  • Repeat Rows 1 – 4 for pattern.

The Half Linen Stitch is a variation on the traditional linen stitch pattern. It’s worked over four rows, instead of two rows, giving the fabric a little more drape than the traditional pattern. In this session, Jen Lucas demonstrates how to work the half linen stitch, which is worked over an odd number of stitches.

The Half Linen Stitch is worked over a multiple of 2+1 stitches (or an odd number of stitches) as follows:

  • Row 1 (RS): *K1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front; repeat from * to last stitch, k1.
  • Row 2 (WS): Purl all stitches.
  • Row 3: K2, *slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, k1; repeat from * to last stitch, k1.
  • Row 4: Purl all stitches.
  • Repeat Rows 1 – 4 for pattern.

In this session, knitting expert Jen Lucas demonstrates the Two-Color Linen stitch. This textured pattern is a simple variation of the traditional linen stitch pattern. Two colors of yarn are used to create the stitch pattern, with the colors being alternated every Right-Side row.

The Two-Color Linen Stitch is worked over an even number of stitches as follows:

  • Row 1 (RS): With Color A, *k1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front; repeat from * to end.
  • Row 2 (WS): With Color A, *p1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in back; repeat from * to end.
  • Row 3: With Color B, *k1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front; repeat from * to end.
  • Row 4: With Color B, *p1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in back; repeat from * to end.
  • Repeat Rows 1 – 4 for pattern.

Linen stitch is created using slipped stitches along with knits and purls. Unlike many other knitted fabrics, the linen stitch fabric creates a firm fabric that doesn’t curl. This feature makes it a great choice for items like scarves and wraps. In this session, Jen Lucas explains how to knit the linen stitch both flat and in the round.

The Linen Stitch is worked in rows over an even number of stitches as follows:

  • Row 1 (RS): *Knit 1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front; repeat from * to end.
  • Row 2 (WS): *Purl 1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in back; repeat from * to end.
  • Repeat Rows 1 & 2 for pattern.

The Linen Stitch is worked in the round over an odd number of stitches as follows:

  • Round 1: *Knit 1, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front; repeat form * to last stitch, knit 1.
  • Round 2: *Slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front, knit 1; repeat from * to last stitch, slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front.
  • Repeat Rounds 1 & 2 for pattern.

In this session, knitting expert Michele Lee Bernstein demonstrates how to work the decorative Honeybee Motif. This stitch pattern is perfect to add a special touch to your knitting project. She works the stitch motif over 11 stitches and 6 rows.

The Honeybee motif is worked over 11 stitches as follows:

  • Row 1 (RS): K3, k2tog, yo, sl1 purlwise, ssk, k3—10 sts.
  • Row 2 (WS): P2, ssp, sl1 purlwise, drop previous yo to WS of work, yo twice, p2tog, p2—9 sts.

  • The Star Stitch is a beautiful decorative stitch motif that is a variation of a flower stitch. In this session, Michele Lee Bernstein demonstrates how to work this motif. The stitch pattern is worked over a multiple of six plus one stitches.

The Star Stitch is worked over a multiple of 6 plus 1 stitches as follows:

  • Row 1 (RS): With Color A, knit all stitches.
  • Row 2 (WS): With Color A, knit all stitches.
  • Row 3: With Color B, *k1, [k5, wrapping the yarn around the needle 3 times for each stitch]; repeat from * to last st, k1.
