Cake artist Elisa Strauss is back and ready to make three new styles of sugar shoes! But before you make your shoes, you'll need to make sure you have the structures to support them. Elisa shows you how to make the ramp and formers you'll need. Then get some quick tips about creating these shoes, including the best materials to use and working on a timetable.
Get started on building your first shoe! Elisa walks you through making a molded heel and covering it -- don't forget the heel tap! Then learn to cut out and attach the sole to the heel using your ramp to hold the pieces in place. Move on to the upper part and watch your modern pump take shape!
Now that your pump is constructed, it's time for the finishing touches! Watch as Elisa uses petal dust to enhance the lizard texture she imprinted onto the shoe. Then learn how to give your shoe that python-skin look and finish it up as you add an insole and label -- details that will enhance the realism.
