The motifs used in modern Irish crochet are typically diagrammed with international crochet charts. Myra walks you through the translation legend included in class materials, compares standard and international versions of a motif chart, and crochets a simple motif using an international chart.
Begin to explore the array of flower and leaf motif patterns included in class materials. You'll learn how to follow the charts, weave in ends efficiently, and even change colors as you go for multicolored motifs, along with Myra's tips on making multiples of motifs to create your garment project.

Myra Wood teaches a wide range of classes on knitting, beading, embroidery and crochet. She is the author of Crazy Lace and Creative Crochet Lace, and has appeared as a guest instructor on Knit and Crochet Now, Knitty Gritty and Uncommon Threads. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Philadelphia College of Art, and enjoyed a career as a commercial artist before finding her true calling of inspiring people creatively.
