There’s no question, most of us adore fast-food. Be it tacos, burgers, or pizza, there’s something deliciously naughty about dining at a quick-and-easy, fast-food joint. But what if you could enjoy those same flavors at home, with added flair? That’s where this class comes in. I took some of the most cherished fast-food dishes and jazzed them up with flavor, color, and overall appeal. This class certainly won’t replace the drive-through in a pinch, but once you taste these elevated versions of your favorite foods, you might be using the drive-through a little less often.
The class kicks off with Philadelphia Cheesesteaks. I’m a Philly girl, so I know a thing or two about the iconic hoagie. We start with garlic butter-infused, toasted rolls and pile them high with shaved beef and sweet, caramelized onions. Next, we smother everything with a satiny, homemade cheese sauce. And the sauce has two different cheeses, so there’s no fighting over which one is the more authentic choice! Next, we’ll whip up some Gourmet Burgers and top them with Special Sauce. The burgers are perfectly seasoned, and the sauce is reminiscent of the best burger sauce you’ve ever had. Our third recipe features Grilled Chicken Sandwiches with Homemade Slaw. The chicken is marinated and grilled, and perfectly juicy. The slaw is crisp, fresh and laced sweet and tangy elements. Next, we’ll take Mexican food to the next level with my Crispy Beef Tacos with Cotija. The beef is savory and warm, and spiked with chili beans, making the filling much more well-rounded and robust. Add some crumbled Mexican cheese and your favorite toppings and let the crunching begin. We finish the class with Gourmet Pizza – and you can make this any way you want. I added some specialty toppings, but anything goes. And if you haven’t tried making your own pizza dough and pizza sauce from scratch, you’ll be amazed how easy and flavorful it can be.
Let’s skip the drive-through and enjoy some fancy fast food at home!
