Allie shares why she loves stained glass quilting--especially after she developed her own original technique to speed up the process. She offers many options for variations in how to use this technique and shows a few examples. Class lessons will explain in detail how she does it, offer practice and warm-up exercises, and finally, a wall hanging project in two different colorways. By the end of class, students will be empowered to create their own stained-glass quilts in this new, contemporary way.
Allie explains her unique "leading" technique and walks students through a practice sample for learning the basics.
With new skills in hand, students are guided through a very simple "warm up" project to practice straight and curved leading over a few "glass" shapes of fabric, and then how to sew it all down by machine.
This wall hanging employs the skills and experience gained in class so far, showcasing the design possibilities and gorgeous impact attained with Allie's technique. She takes you through every step of the project, with complete written instructions available in the Class Materials, too. At the end, many quilts with leaf motifs are shown--it is her favorite shape and can be used so many ways!
Allie gives a quick review of the content covered in class and shares a few more enticing examples to send students off with their own ideas.
