Join quilting instructors Amy Walsh and Janine Burke as you say goodbye to color confusion. Learn how to choose inspired color combinations for captivating quilts! Start with color theory basics and discover accessible techniques for combining colors. Create a soothing, low-contrast look with analogous colors, or an energetic, high-contrast effect using complementary colors. Add emotion to your designs with warm and cool colors, make your piecing pop with hexadic color schemes and create contrast with value. Along the way, you’ll make six different blocks, sewing and arranging them into a vibrant 60″ x 90″ (152 cm x 229 cm) sampler quilt.
Janine Burke & Amy Walsh
Amy Walsh is a lifelong sewer who used to eavesdrop on her mother's sewing bees after bedtime. Her love of fabric began at an early age, when she started collecting it in her bedroom closet. Today, Amy is a longarm quilter. In 1995, along with Janine, she started Blue Underground Studios, Inc. Janine Burke learned sewing from her grandmother during grade school. Eventually, her passion for needle and thread led her to quilting, and she's been collecting fabrics ever since. In addition to working as a longarm quilter, Janine designs patterns and teaches quilting classes.
