Creating Your Floral Palette (16:40)
Meet buttercream masters Valeri Valeriano and Christina Ong! Learn the professional techniques behind mixing colors in your buttercream. You’ll also master making realistic floral colors and creating a marbled effect. Finally, make a two-toned look for a natural-looking gradient on your flowers.

Flowers on a Nail (23:07)
Perfectly pipe a pretty pink rose on a nail using Valeri’s spinning technique and place it at an angle on your cake without compromising the shape of the rose. Move on to piping succulents and freezing them to help reinforce the sturdiness of the shape. Then pipe a ranunculus!

Flowers on a Cake (25:05)
Expand your knowledge of buttercream flowers and pipe a gorgeous camellia directly on your cake! With Christina’s tips, you’ll save time and pipe a realistic-looking flower. Then make hydrangeas in a bunch to reflect their natural look. Finish up with the detailed chrysanthemum and sunflower.

Woven Textures (27:53)
Now that you’ve learned the basics behind piping flowers, explore piping woven textures. Valeri begins with demonstrating the textured raffia basketweave for a detailed look. Then learn how to create a more intricate woven basket texture. Finish up with the simple flat weave texture.

Knitted Looks (23:57)
Learn Christina’s technique for creating a knitted look! Although the pattern looks intense, she simplifies the application with a clockwise and counterclockwise process. Then expand your knitted look to create a pretty three-colored chevron pattern you can measure out easily with a parchment paper grid.

Custom Lace Designs (16:27)
Discover the simplicity behind a custom lace design inspired by real objects. Then find out how Valeri uses parchment paper to measure and create her basic lace pattern. Grab a toothpick and get started transferring the pattern to your cake and pipe a tight lace design.
