We were blown away by all the beautiful entries in our first ever Valentine’s Day Cake Decorating Contest! From a “box of chocolates” cake that fools the eye to the sweetest lovebirds wedding cake you’ve ever seen, we sure had a hard time choosing a winner. Thank you to all the talented cake decorators who took the time to share your lovely creations!
And now announcing…
The 1st place winner of the 2014 Valentine’s Day Cake Decorating contest:
This gorgeous Valentine’s Day themed wedding cake by Bluprint member Cocoa Lane, owner of Cocoa Lane Sweeterie, is absolutely stunning! Using the Lambeth piping methods learned in the Bluprint course Learning the Lambeth Method, Cocoa Lane created the intricate heart frame, which pairs so beautifully with her delicate gum paste flowers and sweet ruffles, which are made from a combination of fondant and gum paste. Cocoa Lane says she’s most proud of how the project turned out exactly as she envisioned in her sketch. Amazing work, Cocoa Lane! A Bluprint Mystery Prize Box is headed your way!
Take a look at our runners-up and you’ll see why the judges had such a hard time choosing a winner!
