Crazy quilting produces fanciful designs that explode with embellishment on asymmetrical patchwork. You’ll learn to stabilize fancy fabrics like velvet, silk, lace or vintage finds, then discover four-block construction methods sewn on a muslin foundation, including straight seams, curved seams, freezer paper applique, and free-form techniques. Then let your crazy imagination run wild as you combine 10 basic and advanced hand embroidery stitches to make fabulous seam treatments, embellishing with silk ribbon flowers, beads, buttons, couching, applique, and charms. Finish with display tips for both a four-patch quilt or single blocks. You’ll love the freedom to customize your crazy quilt with your favorite textures, colors, and stitches. Allie Aller demonstrates her easy techniques and shares her joyous approach to this traditional art form.
