As much as we love sewing couture garments and special occasion outfits, they’re not always our favorite thing to wear. Everyone needs some good, comfy clothes to wear around the house — and yes, you can make all your loungewear yourself!
Lounge in style with these FREE patterns for sweatpants, sweatshirts and more.

1. Womens Knit Joggers
They may be called “joggers,” but we won’t hold you to exercising in them. Sewn in a thick, athletic knit, these pants are perfect for busy days — even if you’re just running around teh house.

2. The Hoodie
This classic hoodie is ready for anything, from a workout (if you’re feeling ambitious) to a day full of errands. With zippers, pockets, grommets and more intricate details, this pattern is best suited to an intermediate sewer.

Made to match the hoodie above, these roomy sweatpants are perfectly practical. Since you can customize the fit, you don’t have to worry about the pants falling down or creating the dreaded muffin top!

4. Leggings on a Serger
If you prefer lounge pants that are a little more fitted, opt for leggings instead! This tutorial shows you the construction method using a serger.

6. Women’s Yoga Pants
It’s widely accepted that yoga pants are appropriate for many situations beyond yoga. So go ahead — sew these up and wear them to run errands, clean the house and binge-watch your favorite show (or actually do yoga, if you feel so inclined).
