The Best NEW Free Knitting Patterns

1. Sideways Braid Beanie

Knit in soft and smooth Malabrigo Arroyo, this simple cabled hat gets some extra oomph from a sideways construction that twines the braid around the head. Elegant and fast to knit, this would be a great quick winter project!

2. Chunky Gansey Cowl

Another fast and warm winter project, the Chunky Gansey Cowl uses thick Cascade Ecological Wool in conjunction with traditional gansey textures to create a beautiful and cozy neck warmer. This would be a great project to knit as a test run before embarking on a gansey sweater.

This will be a fast knit in bulky yarn, and adorable for any baby in your life. If you’re gift knitting, machine washable yarns like Malabrigo Mecha are a good choice for harried new parents!

4. Wrap Infinity

Lace knitting is one of my favorite forms of relaxation, and this project, designed to use up leftover yarn, looks like a meditative and beautiful way to stay calm. A luxurious blend like Cloudborn Alpaca Wool and Silk yarn would make a shiny and soft wrap that would feel great to wear.

Simple cables make another cozy and stylish hat. The sample is shown in a solid-colored yarn, but this would also be beautiful in a kettle-dyed yarn like Malabrigo Merino Worsted. Use dramatic winter hues like berry red or icy blue, or soften it with a pale lilac or stone gray.
