March 13 is Jewel Day, a day to celebrate bling of all kinds. Here at Bluprint we’re not snobby about our sparklers. Maybe your jewels are precious, semi-precious or just a random shimmery bead you found at the second-hand store. Any jewel jewelry is appropriate for Jewel Day!
Don’t limit your jewels to special occasions, either. Jewels can be worn with something as casual as a T-shirt and jeans if you style it right. And what better day to experiment with those jewels than on Jewel Day?
Join us in celebrating Jewel Day, whether you’re making your own jewels or just wearing some of your favorites, with these pendant tutorials from our talented Bluprint designers that showcase jewels.

Absinthe Pendant
Talk about some bling. Bicones and a sparkly rivoli help form this antique-looking pendant. I love the vintage look of this one.

Crochet Pendant
Sometimes, less is more when it comes to jewels. That’s definitely the case here, as these tiny stones sit so nicely in crocheted wire. The pendant can be modified for lots of other types of jewelry too, including rings.

Annie Pendant
I love mixing all kinds of beads — clear, sparkly, opaque — together to make one piece of jewelry. This pendant does a great job of that mixing, featuring a nice Swarovski Rivoli right in the center. Make sure you’re familiar with right-angle weave and triangle weave before you get started on this one.

Double Petal Flower Pendant
This pendant has a lot of variations that offer different styles depending on the type of beads you use. (Check out designer Beluga Beads Jewelry and Tutorials‘s other photos to see what I mean.) The tutorial has step by step photos, so you’ll never be lost.

Beadwoven Pendant ‘Wishing on a Star’
Here’s another gorgeous pendant that features a rivoli in the center. The extra embellishment at the top of this pendant is actually very practical. It’s a triangle bail to help you attach the pendant to a necklace!

Arabesque Pendant
The shape of this pendant is lovely, and I like how it has both modern and retro elements. It’s definitely a great way to bring on the bling for Jewel Day!

Galadriel Pendant
There’s nothing like one big bold jewel to celebrate Jewel Day! The beads around the outside of the main focal bead can be random beads from your stash. Crystals, pearls, seed beads — nothing is off limits!

Kell Pendant
Do you have any jewels in your stash that would work for this cool bell-shaped pendant? You’ll need those, plus some right angle weave skills. Not sure what size beads to use? Don’t worry. MoreThnSomewhat has plenty of recommendations!
