Watercolor Washes (26:59)
Meet Lindsay Weirich and begin by creating wet-in-wet washes using wet paper to achieve soft lines and blended color. Then, create your most controlled gradients yet, and use a variety of objects to bring texture to your background.

Background Stenciling & Stamping (16:56)
Use transfer paper to mark in your focal image, before using stenciling to add design elements and interest. Lindsay shares her techniques for using stencils to guide paint removal from the background. And, learn how to use everyday objects as stamps.

Groundwork With Watercolor Crayons (19:37)
Discover the many advantages of using watercolor crayons in your work. Then, find out how to increase contrast in your image with a softened shadow. Plus, block and blend the base colors in your paintings for dramatic effect.

Layers & Details (18:24)
Learn how to add dimension to your paintings using opaque layers and blending. And, put sharpened crayons to use for precise detail in your work. Lindsay also shares a handy trick for using crayon shavings as paint.

Collage Elements (21:46)
Find out how to use matte medium to incorporate collage paper and ephemera into your pieces. Then, use gesso to achieve a variety of effects, before adding fiber and thread for interest.

Master expert techniques for evaluating your paintings, and refine them with soft pastels. Then, add pattern, rich shadows and bright highlights to bring out interest and contrast in your work.

Lindsay Weirich is a freelance artist, writer and designer. She began teaching art in 1998 at the Art Studios of Bangor, Maine, and became the director just two years later. Her passion is helping others enrich their lives through art, and she does this by writing articles for industry publications, sharing online videos and teaching live workshops and classes.

How will I receive my DVD class?
Your class DVD will be shipped in the mail using the address you provide at checkout. You will not have streaming access to this class in your Craftsy Account unless you purchase(d) it separately. Will the companion materials come with my DVD class?
Any downloadable class PDF materials are not included on the DVD, so you will not have access to those materials. While the video instruction on your DVD is complete, you must have streaming access to download the PDF materials associated with the class. Do I have to purchase a Craftsy Membership to get my class?

What is your return policy?
We want to be sure you’re satisfied. If you have trouble playing your DVD, if the content is not correctly presented on the DVD, or you are dissatisfied with the content of your class, we will work with you. Upon your request, and upon your return of the DVD to us, we will refund your purchase price or send you another DVD to replace a damaged or incorrect DVD, whichever is your preference.
