Pattern Description:

Instructions are given to make fabric water bottle covers in two sizes. The covers make wonderful gifts. Patterns and instructions are included to make covers that look like beetle/ladybug or plain covers. Cotton fabrics were used for sample covers.

This six page PDF e-pattern includes measurements for cutting fabric, a materials list, detailed instructions written in English, and step-by-step photographs.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • They will fit 16.9 ounce and 24 ounce bottles.


  • Medium weight solid or print fabrics - 1/4 yard for strips across top of cover & lining, 1/4 yard contrasting for bottom of cover, 1/8 yard contrasting for strap
  • Fusible fleece or cotton batting - 1/4 yard
  • Narrow double fold bias tape - 30" piece for bug legs & antennae
  • Buttons with two holes - two 3/4" white & two 1/2" black for bug eyes
  • Sewing thread - white & coordinating color
