Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Machine and hand sewing
  • Face painting instructions are included, but you may want to practice on a scrap

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 22-inch doll (not intended for play)


  • 1/4 yard good quality cotton woven fabric for doll
  • Small piece of woven fabric for lower legs
  • Fat quarter for pantaloons
  • Woven cotton fabric for skirt, 12X36" and 3X10" pieces
  • Small piece of woven fabric for shoes
  • Thread to match all fabrics
  • Off-white nylon upholstery thread
  • Jointing thread or dental floss
  • Plastic-backed freezer paper
  • Polyester fiberfill
  • Acrylic paints: off-white, eye color (dark and light), black, lip color, gray, eyebrow/hair color
  • Colored pencils: shades of brown, white, blue/purple)
  • 5/0 to 10/0 spotter, liner or round paintbrush
  • Acrylic matte spray workable fixative (Krylon, Dick Blick, etc.)
  • Air soluble pen
  • Pigma pen: Zig Millenium or Micron Pigma: black, brown, 005 or 01
  • Fringed upholstery trim with 1 1/2 to 3 inch fringe, 26-28 in length ~ or 8X8 inch piece of Tibetan lamb on the hide (wig)
  • (Optional) wired beaded garland for hair accessory
  • (Optional) small basket
  • (Optional) small silk or plastic fruits/veggies

You Will Also Need:

  • Hand and machine sewing supplies
  • Small snaps or buttons
  • (4) 3/8 inch buttons for jointing knees
  • (4) 3/8 inch (or a little smaller) buttons for jointing elbows
  • (4) 1-1/8 inch 2-4 hole buttons for jointing hips and shoulders
  • (2) small buttons for shoes
  • 1/4 to 3/8 inch elastic or narrow twill tape for pantaloon waist
  • White tacky glue
  • Anti-fray product (like Fabri-Tac)
  • For bodice detail stitching: perle cotton, embroidery floss, narrow ribbon, etc.
  • Large and small hemostats for stuffing (or other stuffing tools of your choice)
  • Iron
  • 3-inch, 5-inch, 7-inch sculpting needles
