Beginner
Does ANYONE have kids who don't gather things (rocks, leaves, bits of "interesting" trash from parking lots, etc.) everywhere they go? I designed this bag especially for outdoor exploring. It has a screen bottom to let the sand and dirt fall out (and hopefully stay outside). It has a zippered front opening and a permanently-closed top - easy to drop treasures into the bag and almost impossible for them to spill out accidentally. It has big googly eyes - just for fun. My daughter is CRAZY about this bag - and that makes me very, very happy. :-)
This is a good pattern for advanced beginners. The sewing is all straight lines, but the corners get a bit fussy - especially if you're using oilcloth. It's not difficult - but it does take some patience.
The pattern has loads of step-by-step photos and links to videos teaching you all the skills you'll need to complete the project. I also give you a heads-up about the tricky bits so you know to slow down and take a deep breath for those parts. :-)
Expect to spend a few hours on this project. A fun few hours.

I'm on a mission to teach people to sew, quilt, and embroider. I design patterns especially for beginners and I never release a pattern until I have videos teaching you every skill you'll need to complete the project. Have fun!
