Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Sew a straight stitch on your sewing machine.
  • Sew a zigzag stitch.
  • Use fusible interfacing and fusible web.
  • Baste.
  • Sew two pieces right sides together.

Pattern Description:

Stella is a sweet mama owl. She's sewn from a single fat quarter of quilting cotton with a few extra accent fabrics. Her wings have small squares of Velcro sewn in so that she can hug her little owlet close. Make a rainbow of owls and give them to all your special friends. Happy sewing!

  • 10 inches x 8 inches


  • 1 fat quarter of quilting cotton.
  • scraps of quilting cottons for the eyes, wings, and feet.
  • scraps of felt for the beaks, and eyes on the owlet
  • black embroidery floss
  • 5 ounces of polyfill stuffing
  • scrap of lightweight fusible interfacing
  • scrap of double-sided fusible web
  • coordinating thread

  • hand sewing needle
