About the designer

I started sewing in order to make stuffed toys my daughter wanted, that weren't sold in stores. I found that sewing was relaxing and I kept going from there. I started sewing in July 2011.

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Straight, zig-zag and ladder stitch

Pattern Description:

I created this clam as a prototype. We go to the beach a lot in the summer and my husband goes clamming, bringing home a big bucket of clams each time. My daughter requested a plush clam with a zipper for her birthday. After much searching, I couldn't find one that I could just buy. Therefore, I decided to first create a basic plush clam in order to visualize how the zipper would come into play. Even though the zippered one was the reason for this prototype, this clam has become the most popular. If you are curious, this is the one with the zipper: http://courtneydarling.com/#clamzipper
