Meet Mama Cat and her adorable skirt-dwelling kittens!

Mama Cat loves her babies and takes good care of them. She swaddles the tiniest kitten and dresses the kitten sister in sweet dresses. Mama Cat keeps her own dress tidy with a pretty and practical apron. If the kittens are feeling shy, they can hide inside their mama's skirts.

I originally made Mama Cat as a toy for my daughter who loved kittens, as well an dressing and undressing dolls, and playing at how a mother cares for her babies. This pattern has room for all of that, and for the maker, it has lots of room to have fun customizing!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Finished Mama Cat is 17 in. tall

Materials:

1/2 yard fabric for cat bodies
1/2 yard fabric for mama cat dress and baby kitten bunting
1/4 yard or scraps for mama cat apron, kitten skirt, and kitten dress
Your favorite stuffing (polyfill, wool, or cotton)
Small piece of elastic cord (you could use a thin hair elastic)
One package 1/4 in. or 1/2 in. double fold bias tape (1/2 is easier, 1/4 looks finer)
Two 1/4in. buttons
Embroidery thread for faces
