In honor of all the wonderful skaters who inspire us every four years (and every year in between) Lee & Pearl are thrilled to present the perfect pair of 18" doll skating dresses:
The Short Program
This sleek dress features a jewel neckline with a collar, and a deep keyhole opening in back. The dress can be made with or without long sleeves.
The Long Program
This flirty dress features a lined sweetheart bodice attached to a power net (mesh) or contrast fabric shoulder piece, cut-in-one with sleeves.
Both looks feature a modern-style skirt that hangs smoothly in front and back, with just enough fullness around the hips to create the flattering illusion of a waist on our 18" friends. The skirt, which can be cut in either of two lengths, hangs slightly lower in back than in front, concealing an attached snug-fitting panty with elasticized leg openings.
You'll love these looks and you'll also love the ability to design your own gold medal outfits by mixing and matching our pattern pieces - we've even included bonus pieces that allow you to use the Short Program collar with the Long Program yoke - while exploring a wide range of stretch fabric and embellishment choices.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE: In the Lee & Pearl April 2014 newsletter (available in the newsletter archive at www.leeandpearl.com) we published a set of BONUS SKIRT pattern pieces that turn this skating dress pattern into a pattern for beautiful, form-fitting red carpet, recital and bridal dresses - as well as a stunning Elsa from Frozen gown!
