Pattern Description:

Kasi lives on a hidden, forgotten nature reserve. She has many animal friends, but her best friend is Matilda. Matilda takes care of her and brings her treats to eat like watermelon and hay. Out of love and friendship, Kasi lets Matilda ride on her back and they have adventures together.

Kasi is an easy to make felt toy. The only materials needed are craft felt, embroidery floss and a bit of stuffing. All the stitches are a simple straight stitch. The patterns are full size. A child 7 or older can make this project with a little adult help. The only stitches used are straight hand sewing stitch.

The full size pattern includes:
her blanket
bale of hay
food basket

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) tall.


  • 1 sheet 9x12 inches (23x 31cm) grey felt for Kasi
  • 6x9 inch (15x23cm) piece tan felt for hay bale
  • Small felt pieces in red, green, blue, yellow and purple
  • Embroidery floss in green, yellow, blue, purple
  • Small handful of polyfil or stuffing

You Will Also Need:

  • Needle for hand embroidery
  • Sharp scissors
  • 5-6 straight pins
