The blocks are just the right size for babies and toddlers, and can be made for girls and boys. This is a great way to use leftover fabric scraps. The blocks have a different fabric on each side, using all six colors on the color wheel. The giraffe block is made with orange and yellow fabrics. The pig block is made with pink and purple fabrics. The gator block is made with green and blue fabrics.
Cotton fabric is used for the sides of the blocks. Fleece fabric is used for the giraffe and pig ears, and gator eyes on the sample blocks. The fleece is nice and soft and adds an interesting texture to the blocks. Ribbon is used for the giraffe ears and gator teeth.
Patterns can be reduced or enlarged to make different size blocks, using different width ribbons.
