Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Sew a straight stitch on a sewing machine
  • Baste
  • Sew two pieces right sides together
  • Ladder stitch
  • Satin stitch

Pattern Description:

Benji the Bumblebee is an easy-to-sew softie. He's big and huggable with a sweet face perfect for snuggling. Children will love to pretend to make Benji fly, then cuddle up with him for storytime.

This sewing pattern includes step-by-step directions for making Benji including sewing strips of fabric to make his striped body, making all of the facial features, and even how to add crinkle to his wings!

Benji is 12" tall from stinger to antennae and 12" wide from wing tip to wing tip. I enjoy sewing toys from fleece because it's so soft, easy to find, machine washable, and not very expensive, but other fabrics could be substituted.

Make Benji your go-to gift for baby showers and birthday parties!
